Juan Sebastián Aguilar is a Venezuelan percussionist, music educator, and cultural leader with an extensive background in both orchestral performance and music pedagogy.
Trained within the prestigious National System of Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela (El Sistema), Juan Sebastián has developed a solid academic foundation and artistic excellence in percussion. He completed his musical studies at the Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory and pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Performance (Percussion) at Lisandro Alvarado Central Western University.
The Nucleus Orchestral Program Texas
Since 2024, Juan Sebastián Aguilar has been part of the teaching team at The Nucleus Orchestral Program Texas, a vibrant educational initiative inspired by El Sistema.
As a Percussion Instructor, he brings his deep expertise and passion for percussion pedagogy to the program, guiding students of all levels in both technical mastery and artistic expression. His classes foster creativity, rhythmical understanding, and ensemble skills, preparing young musicians to perform confidently in orchestral and chamber settings.
Through his work with The Nucleus, Juan Sebastián continues to expand his commitment to music education, helping to shape a new generation of young percussionists in Texas and building cultural bridges through the universal language of rhythm.
